Childhood obesity is an important issue, especially given that nowadays, more than one third of children and adolescents are overweight or obese, according to the CDC. But as one Facebook user points out, how we combat the problem is very key to the well-being of the young generation.

While discussing a friend’s overweight daughter with her, Kara Waite was shocked to find out that the child’s teachers and even her doctor were insulting the young girl to her face, as if chastising her would somehow make things better. She had this to say on the matter:

A healthy lifestyle is helpful in maintaining a certain weight, but it shouldn’t sacrifice a healthy emotional state.
